Time to Get Your Jingle On - Call for Submissions: Fifty Shades of Santa





Time to get your jingle on!

A couple weeks ago Pat Smith, editor of Welkin Press and one of my writing buddies, called to invite me to submit a story to a new anthology. The excitement in her voice flowed through the phone lines. Pat is putting together humorous holiday stories for a romance anthology titled "Fifty Shades of Santa." 

The anthology will be published in October (yes, you read it right) by Welkin Press.
 
Pat writes that "the title is already attracting media attention."

She is looking for your best writing, featuring unusual situations, interesting characters, great romantic chemistry and lots of laughs.

She is NOT looking for stories about tying anyone up or beating them with whips or anything like that. She writes, "It's Christmas, people!"

Story Length: 2,000 to 8,000 words

Deadline: September 30, 2012 (Better get moving!)



Payment: $10.00 per story, plus royalties on sales of the anthology.  




Authors retains copyrights for their stories after publication. Submit stories to Pat at mizgotrocks@wt.net

    Thanks for the info, Donna. I am going to do my best to write something, not for the scads of money I might receive, (IF my story is accepted) but because it would be a chance to really write outside my box.

    Maybe I'll make some hot chocolate, crunch on a peppermint stick and get busy writing...

      Hi Sioux,
      You're welcome. I bet you can come up with something that will fit. I'm trying to think up something myself. Your idea about hot chocolate and pepperpmint stick is making me hungry. It doesn't pay much initially, but if the anthology catches on the royalties could mount (hey, maybe I'll write a story about the Royal Canadian Mounties.) Anyway, it sounds like a fun anthology and Pat is a gem.

    NOBODY ties up Santa and beats him with a whip! Glad she specified that little condition. I'm afraid this is out of my league, but it sounds like an intriguing project. ;)

      Agree! She doen'swant submissions that are on the order of Fifty Shades of Gray.

    So you're saying my story, "I saw Mommy Whipping Santa Claus," will have to find another home??? :-)
