I'm excited about the tour I'll be taking tomorrow with my sister Kathleen. I'll be getting up at o-dark-thirty to drive us to the Community Center in Linn, MO. There, we will board the bus, which leaves promptly at 8:30. The tour will take us through the southeastern area of Osage and Maries Counties.
The trip is sponsored by the Osage County Agritourism Council. This is probably the seventh or eighth tour we have taken with this group, and each time has been a delight.
Here's what's on the agenda for tomorrow's trip:
* Thoenen Family Greenhouse on Hwy 100
* St. Alexander Catholic Church in Belle
* Lunch served by Maries County Bank at the church
* Par-a-dice Mule Farm south of Belle (hope we won't be asked to ride the mules)
* Osage Arts Community Gallery
The weather forecast for tomorrow looks like sunny skies and mild temperatures.
Check back later this week or early next week for photos and to read about the journey.

Have fun! Hmm, maybe you can work the mule farm into an essay or a story. :)
ReplyDeleteNow there's an idea! It should be an interesting trip. Hope all is well with you, Madeline.
DeleteOooh, this sounds like fun! I will be anxious to hear about it and see the photos when you post them.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to it, but I'm not looking forward to getting up at 5 a.m. :)
DeleteSuch diverse stops on this trip. Will provide plenty of ideas and research for to-be-written stories. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marcia. I'm looking forward to the trip.
DeleteMany interesting side trips starting out in Linn, the town where my dad was born.
ReplyDeleteA mule picture would be nice! We used to play teams like Belle in Maries County when I coached in Cuba. Beat them out for the District Title one year in volleyball! Not that I keep track of my glory days...
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great time, Donna! I'll be back. . .
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful tour group. I've gone on bus trips with our local Senior Center and had a great time. The highlight was a visit to the Buddhist Shambhala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. That structure is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to comment, so by this time your trip is over. I hope you had a blast and that the weather was as nice as you expected it to be. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like so much fun. Give us all the details at C&C!
