While the lovely month of May gets lots of praise in "The Sound of Music," June is one of my favorite months. Here are 10 reasons I like June:
End of school
Summer vacation
Baseball
Nice weather
Flowers in bloom
My birthday
All Saints parish picnic
Flag Day
First day of summer
Father's Day
In honor of Father's Day, from now until June 14 my friends over at Bookreporter.com are giving away a cooler filled with goodies Dads will love, along with 12 very special books (retail value $400). Titles include the last book in the popular Stieg Larrson trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson. Click here to see the gorgeous book covers and titles, along with complete instructions for entering the contest. Good luck!

Using hot weather as excuse not to cook
Watching So You Think You Can Dance (and believing in my heart of hearts that it's just an age issue that keeps me off that show :-)
Birthdays (Happy day to you and my dad!)
And, of course, Father's Day! (Wherein I make the kids cook for the day-)
These are a few of my favorite (June) things!
Hi Cathy,
ReplyDeleteWe have deals from Sonic here, too. Also, On the Run gas stations have 25 cent drink dealss when the Cards score 6 runs, win or lose, like they did last night to the Sin, Sin, Naughty Reds (9-8).

Hi Mr. Lonely,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Nice post. Saw my first firefly last night. June is also usually when the cicadas start up. Love those rhythms of summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Again Cathy,
ReplyDeleteI forgot to write Happy Birthday to your dad.
Also, I sense a theme of not liking to cook. Am I wrong?
Donna
It's the beginning of summer!

I LOVE June! I can find a kajillion, but here are my top ten:
ReplyDeleteBlooming gardenias
June bugs
End of school year
Trips to the lake
Shorts & capris instead of jeans
Goofy summer movies
Reading on my porch swing
Iced sweet tea replaces hot coffee
Father's Day
Summer is just beginning!
Hi Tammy,
ReplyDeleteFireflies and cicadas. Two more good reasons. I also saw one the other night. I also love the sound of tree frogs and whipoorwills.

Hi Pat,
ReplyDeleteHow true!

Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteDefinitely yes to gardenias, but I'm not so sure about the June bugs. Double yes to reading on the porch swing.
