The Tony Hillerman 2011 Mystery Novel Competition: Contest for best first mystery novel previously unpublished and set in the Southwest. The story's primary setting is at least one of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Southern California and/or Utah. The Wordharvest Mystery Short Story Contest: Stories must be mysteries no more than 2500 words and set primarily in New Mexico. Winner will receive $1000 for the story, which will be published in New Mexico Magazine. Deadline for story submission is August 15, 2011. $20 entry fee.
